A Must Have for all PS VR owners – seriously, stop reading and buy this now!, October 25, 2016

This game is amazing! It truly is the best VR game I’ve played so far. I picked up the bundle, so I got VR Worlds, and I also picked up Battlezone, Rigs, and Eve Valkyrie. Rigs is the best of the bunch! It truly gives that feeling of being in a sport league, and the graphics are spectacular. It’s only 3v3, but the gameplay is fast paced and the arenas are small enough that you are never really wanting more players. IE, there’s always a target nearby for you to kill 🙂

The only down side right now that I am experiencing is that lack of human players when playing online. The majority of my matches are only 1v1 humans and the rest are bots. Unfortunately, the bots are skilled differently too – one round, they can kick arse and the next they get zero’s, not sure why that is. If you’re better than your opponent then it likely won’t matter that much – but if you’re evenly matched, they’ll play a critical role.

I also noticed that at the beginning of the match the bots don’t fire back at times. Perhaps it’s a bug.

Outside of that, it’s an awesome game that I highly recommend for anyone with a PS VR. Note that many users have difficulty not becoming nauseated playing. It apparently takes a little while to get used to. I haven’t had the issue, but I’ve never gotten the motion sickness either. I’ve disabled all “VR Comfort” settings without any problems.

RIGS is one of the first if not the first FPS on PS VR and it sets the bar sky high. Not only that, but in my opinion it is the best PS VR title available at this time and one of a very few that offer a long lasting experience which remains fun playing over time rather than a fun experience that you only play once and feel no need to go back to again.

When you first start playing you get a test rig that allows you to complete the tutorial and get used to the controls, but once you complete this you get to purchase your first rig. There are 4 base frames to choose between:
Sentinel: The tank, big, heavily armoured, but slow and can perform a slam jump which is a charged jump.
Hunter: The speedster, small, short, and very fast. What it lacks in it’s jumping capability it makes up by being able to go through low height tunnels. enabling it to take shortcuts in various points on the maps.
Mirage: The all rounder, tall, agile, with decent armour and can double jump.
Tempest: It can fly, what it lacks armour and speed it makes up for being able to take off and hover.

There are multiple layouts for each frame each with it’s own skills and weapons combination.

RIGS offers you three distinct game modes: “Team Deathmatch”, “Endzone” and “Powerslam”

    Team Deathmatch
This one kind of speaks for itself a team based carnage where you gain points by destroying opponents and assisting your team members in doing so, the team with the highest amount of kills by the end of the match wins.

    Endzone
Football with giant robots, you have to grab the ball and get it through the goal on the opponents side of the map. You can steal the ball from opponents with melee and pass the ball to team members within range. The team with the highest amount of goals at the end wins.

    Superslam
Almost like basketball, except that you are the ball. Near the center of the map high up there is a hoop. If you manage to destroy 3 opponents your rig goes in to overdrive for a limited time, while you are in overdrive you have to fight yourself all the way to the top and jump through the hoop to score a point and at the end the team that scored the most points wins.

RIGS is probably one of the better looking PS VR games available, everything is rendered in a beautiful slick, colorful and bright world, As you look around in the cockpit you can read the crisp letters on the components that make up the cockpit and the levels have a distinct look that makes it easy to keep track of where you are.

Surprisingly for a game where your character actually walks/runs around and jumps in the world though I felt a little woozy for a moment during the tutorials portion by the time I was out of the tutorial section I had fully adjusted and can comfortably play for hours The game also offers multiple comfort adjustments to allow you to customize the experience in a way that reduces the chance at any motion sickness. You can choose between turning using head motion or your right thumb stick, you can restrict the view when in motion and also turn off some effects in games that may negatively affect the experience for some players.

All I can say in the end is if you own PS VR this is the game to get and if you don’t this game is why you should get it.

Must have PSVR game for early adopters, October 14, 2016

Only Played about 4 hours so far, but loving every minute of it. I was a little worried that I would get motion sick from the game, but they did a great job with the controls and that hasn’t been a problem so far.

I love the fact that the aiming is tied to your eye movements. It sounds like it would be weird or difficult to adjust to, but once you are in the game the action is so fast and fun that it just comes naturally and you don’t even notice that its a new control scheme.

The game itself has a kind of rocket league vibe to it. 3vs3 matches with a couple of different game modes, competing in 5 min matches. There are a lot of RIGS to unlock and customization options to earn to keep the game lasting.

Would recommend to any PSVR early adopter as one of the better games I have tried so far.
